DIY lipbalm

Lip-balms can sometimes be quite expensive, so I recommend making your own ones. Plus, this way you know what is in your lip balm which you are putting on your lips.

The main ingredient is Vaseline. Vaseline is exactly the same as petroleum jelly, it's just that Vaseline is branded. Vaseline can be use on other things and not just lips. It can be used anywhere on the skin as a heavier moisturiser or it can help to protect minor cuts and burns.

Other things that you will need:

  • heater (microwave/double boiler)
  • lipstick (optional)
  • scented oils/flavourings (optional)

Melt your Vaseline in a heat proof container.

Add in your lipstick to make it tinted.

Add in your flavourings e.g cinnamon or vanilla essence

Pour into a container, leave it to cool on a counter and then use. Since lip balms have no water in them, they will preserve for a long (12 months) time unlike cream.

Philosophy or Possibility?

Philosophy

Philosophy is a Luxury brand in the toiletries department. It can be £18 in drugstores such as, Superdrug and Boots. Possibility can be found in drugstores also, but i found mine at the 99p store.

The Packaging is very similar. they have a black snap lid with a plain plastic bottle to contain the product. They are both named after foods and below the name is always a recipe for it.

Although one may be more expensive than the other,
Possibililty
the formulation is very similar. The scents are very strong
 and can last for a few hours. Lastly they are both a 3-1, a shower gel, bubble bath and a shampoo.The only difference is that;
Philosophy has a richer lather, but Possibility is not so harsh
and is more hydrating for the skin.

If your on a budget but still want to feel and smell great,
Possibility is a great dupe. Not everyone wants to splash £18
on a body wash so it is a great alternative
